If you’re looking for a solution to lightening dark spots, scars or skin discolorations without having to resort to expensive laser or harmful acid treatments then maybe a skin lightening product would work for you.

There are many such products on the market and the mainstream cosmetic companies spend a fortune on advertising their own products to entice you to buy, but how can you tell if they are all they’re cracked up to be?

Many contain harmful preservatives that can actually damage, rather than enhance your skin.

So What’s So different About Meladerm?

Meladerm was released onto the market some time ago now but Civant Skin Care, who manufacture the product say that their R&D department have been continuously improving and refining Meladerm into the advanced product you can but today.

They say that the ingredients used are refined to the highest quality; unlike cheaper quality manufacturers and that no dodgy preservatives and coarse bleaching agents are utilized in Meladerm.

They emphasize that they don’t use parabens.

(These are man made chemical products used to kill bacteria that have been linked to cancer and are still used in many cosmetic products today) Why would you want to put something on your skin that’s been made in a chemical factory?

The company is also pretty loud in stating that it doesn’t use mercury, steroids or other harmful bleaching agents.

The FDA has made warnings before about bleaching agents containing mercury, most having been imported from overseas. Dodgy!!

So How Does Meladerm Give You The Results?

The manufacturers claim that meladerm works by effectively combining all the active ingredients – all these ingredients have skin lightening properties already well documented – into a single product.

All these ingredients combined, work together to produce what Civant say is the most effective safe skin lightening formula on the market today.

Here’s How!

Melanin is what makes the color of your skin and it’s synthesized by special cells in your body called melanosomes.

Some areas of your body have more of these melanosomes in greater concentrations and these sometimes show up as darker areas, spots, blemishes and hyperpigmentation.

Meladerm targets the enzyme processes in these darker areas and suppresses the formation of melanin in these melanosomes.

This reduces the appearance of unsightly darker areas and skin blemishes such as sunspots, age and liver spots and hyperpigmentation.

Here’s Just Some Of The Natural Ingredients That The Manufacturers Say Make Meladerm so Effective

Alpha Arbutin – biosynthetic that is pure and water soluble and suited to most skin types, its primarily a skin lightener but made more effective when combined with the other ingredients in Meladerm.

Kojic acid – often used in Asian diet but now used as a safe alternative to hydroquinone in a lot of cosmetic brands. It works by inhibiting the production of melanin and is a by-product of the fermentation of rice into sake.

Gigawhite – Plant derived preservative free skin lightener safe alternative to hydroquinone. Significant skin brightening effect with regular use and also has been shown in studies to reduce the size and color of age spots.

Glycolic acid – promotes exfoliation. By encouraging cell turnover it evens out skin tones and is useful in minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.

Lactic acid – Like Glycolic acid but better suited for people with more sensitive skin. Helps other active ingredients penetrate further into the skin layers.

Lemon juice extract – Nature’s own skin bleaching compound pretty irritating if used on its own but in small quantities and combined with the other ingredients the negative effects are greatly reduced.

How Do We Know That Meladerm Really Works? I’m Skeptical So Where’s The Proof?

Meladerm has been around for a few years now so its not surprising that there is plenty of information around as to its effectiveness or not.

The manufacturers, Civant Skin Care, have heavily promoted this product on the internet and on TV in the past and back up their claims that it works with many testimonials on their website.

Some of these include before and after photos as well as some videos.

Civant have also put forward clinical studies to back up their claims that their product works.

It seems these studies might have been conducted by Civant so cannot be corroborated independently however.

More information about these studies is available on the Civant Website Here

Civant state that best results are obtained after using for a couple of weeks when combined with using exfoliation agents with the best results coming after a couple of months.

I think real customer feed back is going to be the best indicator to its effectiveness and most of the testimonials I found indicated the effectiveness of the product.

I found a lot of independent testimonials from non-Civant sources that indicated a great deal of satisfaction in the product too.

I see that they also have a good following on Facebook, which these days is growing in significance.

Here’s What Real Customers Are Saying About Meladerm

It seems that the main view is that Meladerm works for most people. Whilst the manufacturers say it works on just about every skin tone, they do offer a money back guarantee if it doesn’t work out for you.

“I started using meladerm about two years ago because of bad acne scarring. After only 1 week I start seeing the scars diminishing and fading. After two weeks they were completely gone! I stopped using it after I had finished the bottle because the results were that good. I just ordered another bottle last night and I will be getting it very soom. I highly recommend this product to anyone, ethnicity does not matter by the way.” (Katherine – Civant Website Testimonial)

“I have been using Meladerm coupled with prescription vitamin A and have had great results in 1 week.I have used other products that make claims, but never received satisfaction until now. This product evidently works! I am very pleased so far! I live in Sydney, Australia. “(Grace – Civant Website Testimonial)

I had melasma on my forehead cheeks and nose i ordered meladerm and in two weeks my face was clearing up i love meladerm no more wearing makeup” (Nicole – Civant Website testimonial)

I think its interesting that Civant are continuing to get favourable testimonials on a continuous basis, the above are just a few of the latest. However the same positive comments below are from an independent review site and facebook.

“It is worth the money and livaes up to the hype. Help it along by wearing sunscreen and be patient! I have found my regime now – it’s shame it’s taken me to get to my forties to do so :) Good luck everyone and thank you Meladerm !”  (Kathy – testimonial)

“Im using meladerm now for 3 wks and i can tell until sofar it works for my skin; my hyperpigmantation in my face is fading, this is the first creame that really works for me, and i have tried so many treatments and my beauty specialist where I was doing a Microdermabrasion treatment ( every month ) was surprised..i look forward for more results during the time….”   (Pyraliss – Testimonial from Facebook)

“I’ve used Meladerm for years. It’s a moisturizer that doesn’t leave me feeling like I have to wash my face again! It’s so clean — and the fresh scent draws compliments even when I am wearing no other. It’s the great feel that has kept me loyal to this product for year after year.” (Kathleen – Testimonial from Facebook)

“I have been using Meladerm twice a day for a month and it really does work! I have a bunch of sun/age spots under my eyes and on my nose and they have significantly faded! I am pleasantly surprised, as I usually strike out with these types of products.” (Michelle – Testimonial from Facebook)

Some  More Things You Need to Know Before You Buy Meladerm

Meladerm isn’t available in the high street shops although Civant say on their website its available through select  medical offices, spas, estheticians and specialized clinics.

Unfortunately they don’t say what shops they authorize as re sellers so look out for “too good to be true” deals!

I do see that there are some sellers on ebay but its nearly double the cost that you can get it safely from the official website. There are no guarantees either.

So whilst there are a few dodgy sites out there offering special offers and coupons, please don’t fall for them and end up getting ripped off.

Only buy from the official site.

At the time of writing Meladerm costs $49.99 for a 1.7 oz pump dispenser, direct from Civant, with just $8.99 for shipping in the USA.

There will be more cost to post internationally but its pretty easy to use the shopping cart which calculates shipping for you.

The offered guarantee only applies to new customers buying from the official website and you have to get an authorization form before you can send stuff back for a refund.

So Is Meladerm Worth The Money And Should You Buy It?

If you are unfortunate to have some of the skin issues mentioned in this review then Meladerm seems to be a worthy product to consider using.

Its not a quick fix and you will need to persevere to get the best results.

That being said, from all the positive feedback both from the official website and some independent sources, I would recommend you give Meladerm a try.

I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for reading my review.
